Now I have a lot to say about Lilliane’s decisions. We also have to asses her logic with the mindset of a [supposed] adult. Let’s also remember she knows the whole plot.

First, let’s dissect Eiden’s response and timing with his leave. Acting in a child’s place, he decided not to tell her about him leaving after witnessing her reaction to Carlyle’s leave. He didn’t want to see her sad and wanted her to keep smiling longer than seeing her disappointment. Best decision? Maybe not. However, form his pov he didn’t want to add to her plate. Also, she knows he’s a part of the Imperial Family. Obviously, if he needs to distance himself from the capital and cut off contact, it’s usually because there is a power-struggle of succession that he did not want to be a target of. And she knows that. Maybe he could’ve slipped a letter or two, but that could pose a risk to not just him, but her. And boy would she blame herself if he got into drama over a letter. I don’t appreciate closed-minded individuals.

Not everyone can keep their agreements because life happens. He obviously has a reason and he’s willing to tell her in person. Even if she didn’t like him anymore, she can at least hear what happened – after handling her prior responsibilities first (don’t ditch Joshua from peer pressure). Don’t close up and make a biased decision just because you felt betrayal and projected onto him before understanding the WHY. Yes, Lili has a trauma, however I cannot fully understand it from this point backwards because her first life is not too clear.

It is obvious she has an abandonment wound, but being codependent on Josh not leaving (even though it’s not certain from this point) could be detrimental to her actual healing. She needs to come to terms with not placing heavy expectations on anyone else because she will continue to feel disappointed. That is the problem in itself, and as an adult at mind, she should be considering that. Forever is never certain, but living in the moment is. Faulting someone for the unexpected is unfair and immature.
