is the reason he isn’t warm to uncle even though he was in his past like ( assuming he traveled back) because he thinks that if he doesn’t have a strong bond with uncle then he wont risk his life again? and he will survive this time around? ( sorry for bad english i hope you can understand what im saying)

Luka is here to play cards and get information, and he already played his cards. He’s known something was up with Judith for a while, but I’m sure not knowing if things were misunderstood before (he was so young after all and had an awful fever) or if something else is going on is killing him.
