I think revealing knowledge about Isabella was a bad move, the story has changed since Franz was angling for Judith’s hand. She should have made duplicates of the information and left it at that. Its easy for gossip to spread.
There she goes hedging up the way and prepping her defenses. The how’s and why’s are going to be hard to explain, but she could just say she’s being careful to ensure there aren’t children older than Luka running around. On one hand Luka wasn’t enthused about inheriting so she could claim to be looking out, on the other hand she could claim to be protecting his interests.
Trusting the butler, huh? Rookie move.
