That line sounds so sweet but I have mixed feelings with that line irl. One time an older cousin of mine bought me eyedrops because I was looking for it, but she paid for it. When I asked her how much it was because I wanted to pay her back, she said it’s okay, but I insisted. So then she said, “Do you really dislike what your older sis wants to give you?”
She was older than me and we were like two sisters playing together when we were young (she didn’t have a younger sister and I didn’t have any older sibling), but her family’s rich and although mine is well-off enough, we’re far poorer than her family so I tend to have mixed feelings receiving anything from them because I don’t wanna be a burden sort of (plus I was already earning money myself). It was that line that shushed me into just honestly receiving it as her goodwill.
