Tbh novel and manwha these were the chapters that fully made clear how the one grand villain of this whole story was Emperor Esteban.
Man was so pressed about the wife he (emotionally) abused seeking comfort in her childhood love, the man she actually had wanted to marry, and unfortunately got pregnant off the affair, that he not only had her killed, but proceeded to make Rezef’s and Kayena’s life hell for shit neither had anything to do with/were to blame for (being the product of an affair and resembling her mother respectively).

As if THAT hadn’t been bad enough, when Kayena changed due to her 3rd life status, he kept messing with her because she happens to resemble her mother a lot, and once he learns she is a magician he hopes to get her back (Kayena had temporarily gone AWOL after very briefly prolonguing his miserable existence) to exanguinate her in order to obtain the “Elixir” aka a potion made with a shitton of a mage’s blood that can cure all illnesses, wounds or scars in a living person or bring someone freshly dead right to the point before their demise. This because he hoped to heal himself and live forever happy with his ‘actual family’ of Catherine and Ethel [here I remind you Catherine had no choice in this, he saw her and chose her as his lover]

Like he is just The Worst and I am gleefully expecting his downfall. Here he is so sure he can keep sticking it to his murdered wife by using Raphael to destroy Rezef when Raphael wants to destroy him just as much for putting Kayena in that situation to begin with

In my opinion, 99% of the chat should be talking about how absolutely the stunning the art is!!! The hair, the shoes, the jewellery, the rooms – up to every detail, I think this manga takes the first sport by far when it comes to how breathtakingly beautifully it’s drawn.
