“What’s wrong, Madam?” Alice asked, looking puzzled as she watched my startled expression toward empty air. I nearly pointed at the void but quickly redirected my hand toward the stone fragments on the table, my lips moving soundlessly for a moment.
“This… this seems close to being done, but too many pieces are missing…”
“Exactly. We’ve matched so many, but it’s still not enough,” Alice agreed.
“Sir Ferry, are there no other fragments?”
Even Monica turned to Ferry with the same question. Ferry tilted his head slightly, covering the left side of his face with his palm. Then his expression hardened in a way that immediately gave away who he was mimicking.
“I got it! My husband must have the remaining pieces. He once mentioned that Ferry gave him something like a stone fragment as a gift.”
“…You gifted the Duke a fragment like this?”
Alice shot Ferry a strange look. Misunderstanding it as praise, Ferry grinned proudly.
“Wait here. I’ll go and retrieve it,” I offered.
“I’ll go instead.”
“No, you guys struggle to communicate with my husband, don’t you?”
“…But recently…”
“Hm?”
Monica seemed on the verge of saying something but shook her head instead.
“No, it’s nothing. I’ll accompany you then, Madam.”

“Yes! These aren’t just ordinary stones—they seem to be broken pieces of something. Once pieced together, it might form a complete object. Do you still have the fragments Ferry gave you?”
“Yes. Here they are.”
Remaining seated, Temenos leaned down to open a drawer beneath his desk, retrieving several stone fragments.
“What’s that underneath them?”

Temenos abruptly slammed the drawer shut. Startled by the loud noise, I flinched. Temenos cleared his throat awkwardly and gestured toward the pile of stone fragments on the desk.
“Let’s focus on piecing these together first. I’m curious to see what they form.”

Though suspicious, I couldn’t pinpoint a reason and instead joined him in assembling the fragments. Since the puzzle was already halfway done, it came together faster than expected.

Since I was planning to receive a new oracle anyway, I placed the tablet on the desk and prepared to demonstrate.
