It’s so weird trying to remember than now Aiden is actually mature when he acts like so around Erin. And the fact that her presence mostly indirectly keeps him from being fully mature, even if more fulfilled, feels EXTREMELY weird now that she’s actually broken down from holding back so much. She seems to RELISH in those gestures of genuine sadness and desperation in Aiden, when before she’d be worried for his wellbeing. But then again, all of those are both validating her feelings for him and letting her deny any need to restrict herself

One has to wonder: would Erin have become like this if she let herself have a fully honest go at what she did? Instead of having to constantly worry for what she’d do after Julia appeared and the things she did ended up biting her back, just fully committing to loving Aiden and fully taking at least joy in her position and actions. It feels almost sad to think so.

Seeing how Aiden’s parents went lovey dovey without any signs of derranged dependence or affection after the air was cleared for both to be honest: did that happen only because they were mature, grown and close to each other enough that they could start moving forward with just that? Were Aiden and Erin condemned to such a twisted love from the moment they met, by their circumstances and by then seemingly inescapable trauma?

Still looking forward to how insane they get in their obsession for one another now, or if finally letting go of all stops actually helps reign them in some.
