Sorry dude, you’re just collateral, and really I’m sorry you feel that way but this haves nothing to do with you, it was this or live with the knowledge that all her achievements and work were handed straight to her sister and never getting the recognition she deserved… if that’s to be the case better to be in HER TERMS.

She was thinking ill of her sister, but she was judging her with the same eyes her mother judged, “What’s so great of your blood that you think I’m lesser than her when she doesn’t act anything like you have taught me I should act”, yes she’s harsher in her mind, but this “contempt” she feels isn’t really directed at her sister, it’s all mom.

The sister is also just collateral, EVEN WHEN she’s acted the way mom doesn’t like, mom hasn’t really chastised her (not saying she should, but this favoritism only hurts BOTH of her daughters in the long run, the only reason Helga is such an outstanding lady is because she’s worked hard to earn her position, whereas mom thinks it was her “duty” and pushed her to fill the shoes the missing daughter left, she thinks it’s her daughters “entitlement” to receive everything even if she didn’t achieve it… because blood blablabla), this all falls on the head of the parents, I would argue that this falls straight to the head of the cheating husband, neglect is just as bad as abuse… but he’s the one that cheated in the first place only to tuck his tail and let his wife do whatever she wants to avoid blame and dealing with his mistakes in a proper manner, no, Helga was not a mistake, the way he dealt with her, his mistress and his wife was the mistake… I think we can all agree that Helga has being blameless in all this from day one, even if she believes sh*t is gonna hit the fan once she disappears, she’s not wrong, she knows what can happen and she knows it’s gonna hurt them, but she also knows she can’t keep going like that… and well, considering how she’s being treated… I think her thinking them suffering is a good thing is at least justified…

A shame she wasn’t able to open up to her sister and her fiancee… but in the end it’s all understandable… the CP disappeared in the most crucial moment of her life… just as mom started to treat her like sh*t and began making her the punching bag of her frustrations…

I’ve seen this trope a million times but I like the characterizations in here much more, it’s very realistic, her contempt and anger and lashing out (if not externally, mentally, against EVERYONE) all makes sense… her wounds show and they are deep, I really liked that the author didn’t do “pity porn” but actual situations that are understandable from everyone involved (yes even mom is understandable, irredeemable of course, but understandable nonetheless).

IF ONLY IT MADE SENSE WHY THE MAID DID THIS IN THE FIRST PLACE I WOULD BE GOLDEN… but damn… that’s got to be the laziest way of presenting this situation hahahaha, we got no explanation whatsoever, I wonder if the author is just gonna leave it as is or we’ll find out more later.
