The writing is too one sided. All paint pretty picture for Helga while the reader conveniently excuse Helga’s warped attitude toward Helianne.

How can one even write a central plot like an afterthought? Nothing to setup as to why they were swapped? What was the motivation? Did it ever mentioned? Was it that unimportant that I would miss it?

I would assume it was the usual trope of poverty, them not wanting their daughter to live in poverty. But if they love her so much so that they would willingly gave up the child, how come there was never any attempt to contact the child? Even observing from afar, the usual trope of kind stranger that bumped into you in the market who asks about your day, your life, and leave you with a smile that kind of thing. If it was extreme poverty, it should reflect in Helianne’s well being and attitude. They should serve as a comparison of both world, one with hardship, poverty, starvation, etc, but can still find happiness, and one with abundance, luxury, but filled with sadness.

Helianne would be street smart, physically capable, clumsy at times, while Helga would be book smart, perfect in mannerism, but less capable physically.

Instead we go with the route of putting down the counterpart to prop up the Lead.

With every motivation that set everything up. At this point in time, there’s really nothing left to see beside the mother and Eutrid family getting destroyed which should be halfway there. And seeing there’s so many chapter left…man..

I feel very relieved after this chapter. I was feeling nervous if the crown prince is another kind of obsessive ml that only want the fl without caring about her feelings, but it was clear where his priorities is laying right now. I like how his feelings of wanting her to be safe overpowered his desire to possess her.

I find it funny how they all think she couldn’t possibly survive on her own outside, even though at 16 she already has several successful ventures. Even if they don’t know about her magic, they should not think she’s some naive “greenhouse flower”.

Geez never mind. I’m totally on Prince’s side.

Now I just want her to run away to a different country, build a house, and keep her business there hahahaha, but it can’t happen, she needs to hide… and she can’t leave just yet till things calm down I guess?
