Dang, this was definitely the most emotionally provoking chapter so far. Rivier is afraid of him becoming a tyrant (understandably), hyperfocuses on kindling nonexistent love between Croft and Lillian with Croft’s happiness in mind, and has otherwise lived a more sheltered life. On the other hand, Croft became Machievellian in order to survive, which is inevitably pretty tyrannical… But it’s easy to empathize with their opposing views and I’m interested to see how this will play out.

I feel like Rivier is selectively blind. She only sees what she wants to see. Where in the world did she see Croft falling for Lilien at first sight?! WTF???!
And we finally get to see Croft being… something other than a puppy. I like puppy Croft but it’s good to see that the tyrant was not only for the title.
