…I can’t believe this chapter is actually getting me to see what’s the direction: Erin will try to do more “villainess” acts from here on, following from how the original went to prepare the stage for Yulia, but she can’t see how horribly she is making everything both for her, Yulia and Aiden. Because, as we see, she hasn’t healed Aiden, he still cannot trully handle other people…besides her, who (possibly besides his parents, though we haven’t been shown anything about their current relationship) he adores with his entire existence. And possibly recognizing that, she still feels that Yulia is needed for Aiden to overcome that.

She wishes to protect herself from the pain of feeling that she has to lose Aiden for him to be fully healed from his trauma, but can’t help but indulge in her husband from the affection he shows her (thanks to the love she has for him, nurtured beyond her consciousness towards him, because of her self-denial while thinking she was Aiden’s guardian, which now she’s free from and as is no longer able to work as a restraint). And because of it, all her actions are tinted with them, out of which Aiden can only discern her affection for him, and only helps fuel his self-assurance. And regardless of how it plays out, the result is that Aiden is the same as he is now and unable to be changed by anyone, because of how much Aiden was affected by Erin.

Basically, unless Aiden is able to (seemingly) lose the only issue that remains for Yulia to help with, Erin cannot stop being a walking contradiction that wishes to escape Aiden so that he (in her mind) can finally be free to become the great person he’s supposed to be. Which, inadvertently, she herself has made unable to come into reality, ever, at least by the route she knows of.

I can only hope she doesn’t actually get to escape and travel the world, and let Aiden slowly self-destruct, because surely he’ll end up ignoring Yulia and becoming a tyrant that raids other countries in order to catch her in that scenario.

Another, significantly better but still kinda sad scenario I can see is her deciding to stay until Yulia appears, slowly breaking more and more until she acts fully as a villainess by nature, instead of being pushed into it by her emotions and wishes to see Aiden becoming better, but first-hand is shown how much she’s now coveted by him. And with her now having her character fallen into some kind of depravity, and Aide being the person he now is, both becoming a fully villainous couple that ends up ruling the country behind the scenes (similar to the original Aiden by Erin’s account).

The last scenario I can imagine is that the meeting with Yulia happens before Erin can fully “fall from Grace”, and is shown that Aiden can no longer live without her. So she becomes chained to Aiden forevermore, trying but failing to have Aiden truly act out of goodness instead of her pushing him to do so.

Unless Aiden can mature and grow into a full person capable of living in the world without acting like a sociopath, Erin can only live in horror after realizing what she has done to Aiden, or fall from grace from the weight of that revelation and/or the burden it brings to her, at least from what the last two chapters seem to suggest.
